Ph.D. Celia Abolnik,

Celia Abolnik, PhD, is microbiologist by training and her research interests lie in avian diseases, especially RNA viruses. She spent a decade at the ARC Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute as a research scientist before joining the University of Pretoria’s Faculty of Veterinary Science in 2012, where she holds the National Research Foundation’s South African Research Chair in Poultry Health and Production as a full professor. She is the author of 67 peer review scientific journal papers on diseases of poultry, mainly avian influenza, Newcastle disease, infectious bronchitis and avian mycoplasmas.
